ISL schedule to be the “cornerstone” of Sunil Chhetri’s wedding! – Superpower Football

ISL schedule to be the “cornerstone” of Sunil Chhetri’s wedding!

Sunil Chhetri, the captain of the Indian football team will be playing for Bengaluru FC in this year’s Indian Super League (ISL) as skipper which is scheduled to kick off on November 17. This year’s ISL affects the star’s life in a completely different context though.

The star player for Bengaluru FC has set an example with his dedication towards the team cause. The 33-year-old footballer is all set to wed Sonam Bhattacharya, the daughter of Mohun Bagan legend Subrata Bhattacharya. So to avoid the wedding ceremonies clash with his commitments to Bengaluru FC, the marriage has been spread over an entire one month. The Indian skipper has rather opted to slot in the the wedding ceremony between the gaps where his team, Bengaluru FC are not playing.

The Bengaluru skipper is marrying his long time girlfriend with whom he announced his wedding last year in December. The ‘sangeet ceremony’ will be held between Bengaluru FC’s first and second matches. It means the ceremony is somewhere between November 19th and 26th of the same month. The auspicious day for the marriage will be held on December 4th in Kolkata, according to Times of India. The reception for the marriage is scheduled for December 24th in Bengaluru- again a rest day of the tournament. Chhetri has called Bengaluru as his ‘adopted city’ and it cannot get better than celebrating his wedding with Sonam there.

A brilliant example by the Indian skipper to not let his personal life affect his professional life and also goes to show the man’s commitment towards his team and his team mates. We wish the Indian skipper all the luck for the coming months and hope he pulls off this humongous task of striking a balance between his personal and professional life.
