West Ham United have announced the signing of Mexican international Javier Hernandez on a three-year deal for £16million.

 

 

 

 

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player joins the Hammers from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, having spent the last two seasons in Germany.

Chicharito – as he is more commonly known by – scored a total of 59 goals for Manchester United during his four seasons in Manchester, winning two Premier League titles. After moving to Leverkusen, Hernandez continued his scoring ability netting 39 times in just 76 matches for the club.

 

 

 

 

The 29-year old is currently Mexico’s all-time highest goal scorer, achieving the feat this May by scoring his 48th goal for Mexico.
Chicharito is West Ham’s fourth summer signing after former Manchester City duo Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart and Marko Arnautovic from Stoke City.

 

 

 

 

Chicharito will likely make his West Ham debut and return to the Premier League against his old club, as West Ham United will face Manchester United in their first match of the 2017/18 season on August 13, 2017.
